Earth day

To celebrate Earth day, along with the team at @IgersEdinburgh (our Edinburgh Instagram community) we decided to organise a litter picking party at Cramond beach. Our hardy crew braved the windy weather and assembled early morning to catch the low tide and make the crossing to Cramond Island.

We filled 20 sacks of trash to be disposed of by the council but hardly scratched the surface in terms of the amount of litter left behind or washed up on this beautiful beach. Such a shame, we all left resolved to do more to help preserve this environment in future.

Afterwards we retired to Board Walk Beach Club for well earned coffee and cakes.

If you want to organise a community cleanup in Edinburgh, you can contact the City of Edinburgh Council who will provide you with the equipment you need (litter grabbers, black bags, sharps bin, adult and child sized gloves) and will dispose of the rubbish you collect afterwards. It was really easy to work with them. Contact Clean Up Scotland here
